Community rules
In short
- Be kind, be honest, and keep it legal. No hate, harassment, scams or sexual content.
- Chat between you and a professional is for the booking you made. Agree and pay inside the app, not outside it.
- Reviews must come from a real booking and tell the truth.
- Every post, message, review and profile has a Report button. You can also block a person.
- If we act against you, we tell you why and you can appeal.
These rules apply to everything you post or send in MovItaly, run by Lodato Solutions LLC: forum posts, comments, chat messages, profile text and photos, and reviews. They help people feel safe while they settle in, study, work or travel in Italy. By posting your first forum message or sending your first chat message you accept them. You can read the full terms of service and the privacy policy at any time.
What is not allowed
Do not post content that is unlawful or that harms others. In particular, the following is not allowed.
- Hate speech, or attacks on people because of origin, nationality, religion, skin colour, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Harassment, threats, bullying, stalking or repeated unwanted contact.
- Sexual content, and any sexual or grooming approach towards a person under 18. This is never tolerated and is escalated at once.
- Scams, fake offers, fake jobs, fake documents, pyramid schemes and requests for advance payments.
- Doxxing: sharing private details of another person, such as address, phone number, documents or photos, without their clear consent.
- Political agitation, including calls for remigration, forced removal of groups of people, or campaigns against people because of where they come from.
- Legal, tax, immigration or medical advice given as a paid or professional service by someone who is not listed and verified as a professional in the app.
- Spam, advertising, and sharing your own phone number, email or messaging handle to move a conversation outside the app.
Chat between clients and professionals
Chat opens when a booking exists between you and the professional, and it is there to organise that booking: time, place, what to bring and questions about the service. Please keep to these rules.
- Stay inside the booking. Do not use the chat for unrelated offers, and do not contact people who did not book you or whom you did not book.
- Pay only through the app. A professional must not ask you to pay, or to pay a deposit, by cash, bank transfer or another app to avoid the platform fee, and a client must not offer to. Payments made outside the app are not protected by our booking terms and can lead to sanctions for the professional.
- Do not move the conversation to a private channel to avoid the rules, and do not share phone numbers, emails or messaging handles for that purpose.
- A professional gives the service in their own name and responsibility. Advice given in chat is not Movito's advice and not ours. Legal, tax or medical advice may be given only by a professional who is listed and verified as such in the app, and only within the booking.
- Be respectful and keep to the topic. No pressure, no insults, no requests for personal or intimate information, photos or a private meeting that have nothing to do with the service.
- Chat with a person aged 14 to 17 is possible only inside a booking approved by the guardian, and professionals must not start contact outside it.
You can report a message, or block the person, from the conversation at any time. A blocked person can no longer write to you. We read the reports, and we may read the messages that are reported, but only those, to decide. Otherwise we do not read your chats. Messages are kept for as long as the booking and the period in the privacy policy require.
Reviews
You can review a professional only after a completed booking with them, and a review must describe your own experience. Do not write fake reviews, reviews for payment or a favour, reviews of your own business or of a competitor, or reviews that contain insults, hate or private details. A professional may not ask for, offer a reward for, or hide reviews, and may not threaten a client because of a review. A professional can reply once in public and can report a review that breaks these rules. We check reviews to make sure they come from real bookings, we remove those that break the rules, and we tell the author why. We do not remove a review only because it is negative.
How to report content
Every post, comment, message and profile has a Report button. Choose the reason that fits best and add a short note. You can also write to To be confirmed. If you think someone is in danger or a child may be at risk, choose the child-safety reason in the report dialog. Reports about children are read first. You do not need an account to report illegal content by email, and the route is explained in our notice on reporting content.
What moderators do
Moderators read each report, look at the content and its context, and decide. They can leave the content as it is, remove it, hide it, warn the author, limit features or close the account. They treat reports about children with priority and aim to look at them within 24 hours. A person makes the final decision on removals and account limits, and no one is penalised on the basis of an automatic score alone.
Notice, reasons and appeal
When we remove content or limit your account because of a rule breach, we send you a message with the decision, the facts and the rule we relied on, whether the decision came from a report or from our own check, and how to appeal. If we act on a report, we also tell the person who made it what we decided. You can appeal for at least six months after the decision, free of charge, by replying in the app, using the appeal button in the message or writing to To be confirmed and quoting the reference. We aim to answer within 30 days. A person who was not involved in the first decision reviews your appeal, and we answer with reasons. You may also go to an out-of-court dispute body or to a court, and appealing to us does not remove those options.
Sanctions ladder
What happens depends on how serious the breach is, whether it is repeated and what harm it caused. Normally we go step by step, but we may start higher, or skip steps, for serious breaches.
- Reminder or warning, with a link to the rule.
- Removal or hiding of the content, with a statement of reasons.
- Temporary limit on a feature, for example posting, chat or review replies, for a set time.
- Temporary suspension of the account.
- Permanent closure of the account. For a professional this also ends the listing and the contract according to the professional terms, with the notice period they provide unless the breach is serious.
We close accounts at once for sexual content involving minors, grooming, threats of violence, scams and payment fraud. Where the law requires it, we report to the authorities. A person always takes the final decision. Closing an account does not end any right you have to a refund under the subscription terms or the refund policy. Paid placement never protects anyone from a sanction.
Protections for people aged 14 to 17
People aged 14 to 17 may use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian, as described in the parental consent notice. Their accounts have extra protections, set in our code and not switched off by any setting.
- Forums and comments are read-only. They can read but cannot post.
- Chat is possible only with a professional inside a booking that the guardian has approved. There is no other direct message, and two minors cannot message each other.
- No professional or other adult may start contact with a minor outside an approved booking. Adults must not ask a minor for personal details, photos or a private meeting.
- Presence (online status) is hidden, and the profile is not shown in directories.
- The assistant runs in a safer mode for minors, and document upload is switched off.
- Push notifications show no message preview and quiet hours are always on.
- No ad tracking is used for anyone, and none is used for minors.
If an adult breaks these rules, we remove their access to the minor, suspend the account and may inform the authorities.
Safeguarding contact
If you are worried about the safety of a child, use the child-safety reason in the report dialog or write to To be confirmed. In an emergency in Italy call 112 first. Tell us what happened, where you saw it and any account names. We will confirm that we received your message and act on it as a priority. We may keep related records for the time the law requires, so that authorities can use them. This follows our duty to protect minors under Article 28 of the Digital Services Act (VERIFY).
Changes to these rules
We may change these rules when the law, the product or the risks change. Each version has a number and a date at the top. If a change is important, we tell you in the app and ask you to accept the new version before you post again. Older versions are kept so that we can show which rules applied at the time of a decision. Questions about these rules go to To be confirmed.
