Parental consent notice
In short
- Under 14: no account. If someone under 14 tries to sign up, we stop and do not keep their data.
- 14 to 17: the account needs a parent or guardian. We email the guardian a single-use link that works for 48 hours.
- A booking request from a young person waits for the guardian, who has 72 hours to approve or decline.
- Purchases only through the guardian's approval and the store's own controls (such as Ask to Buy). Never by card on our website.
- Safer settings are always on: no posting, no chat outside an approved booking, no Sponsored results, no advertising based on profiling.
This notice is for the parent or legal guardian of a young person aged 14 to 17 who wants to use MovItaly. MovItaly helps people who move to, study in, work in or visit Italy to find information, plan their steps and book independent professionals. It is operated by Lodato Solutions LLC, a company organised in Delaware, United States, which is the controller of the account data. Your family member asked us to contact you because our rules require your consent first. Please read this before you decide.
Minimum age
You must be at least 14 years old to have an account. Anyone under 14 is blocked and cannot register. When the date of birth shows that a person is under 14, we stop the sign-up, show a neutral message and do not keep the name, email or date of birth that were typed in. For ages 14 to 17 the account works only after a parent or legal guardian has given consent. Until you confirm, the account stays in a waiting state and can use only the free News section.
What the account holds
The minor's account holds the data needed to run it: name, email, date of birth, language, answers to the journey questions, saved guides and tasks, bookings, messages inside bookings, notification settings, and basic device and crash data. We do not use ad tracking for anyone, and we do not use it for minors. Documents cannot be uploaded from a minor's account. Data is stored in the European Union (AWS eu-south-1 in Milan). Details, retention periods and your rights are in the privacy policy.
What a minor can and cannot do
The rules below come from our age policy and apply automatically. They cannot be switched off by the minor.
- Can: read guides, News and the forum; use the assistant in its safer mode; search for professionals; request a booking.
- Cannot: post in the forum or comments; message anyone except a professional inside a booking you have approved; start contact outside a booking; upload documents; pay on the web; show online status.
- Notifications show no message preview, and quiet hours are always on.
- The community rules apply to the minor in the same way as to adults.
Payments
Minors can pay only through the Apple App Store or Google Play, never by card on our website, and only once a guardian has been approved on the account. If your family member subscribes, the store handles the payment, and your own store settings, such as Ask to Buy or Family Sharing controls, decide whether the purchase can go ahead. Without an approved guardian link, purchases are not possible. The subscription price and the introductory offer are set out in the subscription terms. The professional may charge for a booked service, and a booking for a minor is approved by the guardian before any charge.
No Sponsored results and no profiling ads
Professionals can pay to be shown in a paid placement labelled "Sponsored". Young people aged 14 to 17 never see these paid placements: they see the normal results only. We do not show advertising based on profiling to anyone under 18, and we do not use ad tracking at all. The assistant works in a safer mode for minors, with narrower topics, and it does not suggest purchases.
Bookings need your approval
When a minor asks to book a professional, the booking waits for you. We send you an email with a link to approve or decline. The professional cannot see the request until you approve it. If you do not answer in 72 hours the request expires. Chat between the minor and the professional opens only after you approve, and only for that booking.
How we check who you are
We check in a proportionate way. We send a link to the email address given for the guardian, which must differ from the minor's own address. The link is single use and valid for 48 hours. Opening it shows this notice, and consent is recorded only when you press the confirm button and tick the boxes below. For purchases we rely on the store's own controls, for example Ask to Buy. We do not ask for identity documents. We keep a record of your consent with the date, the version of this notice and a protected form of your email address.
Consent form
By pressing confirm you tick the following boxes. The wording is shown exactly like this.
[ ] I confirm that I am at least 18 years old and that I am the parent or legal guardian of the young person who asked for this account.
[ ] I have read the parental consent notice and the privacy policy, and I allow this young person to use MovItaly with the restrictions described.
[ ] I understand that I can review, restrict or withdraw my consent at any time, and that the account will then be limited or closed.
Review, restrict or withdraw
You can withdraw consent at any time without giving a reason. Every email we send you contains a link to do it, and the minor can also start it from the account settings. When consent is withdrawn the account becomes read-only, all signed-in sessions end, and the minor can no longer post, book or message. You can also ask us to delete the account and its data, and to give you access to the data we hold. Write to To be confirmed. We ask you to confirm consent again every year, and we email you before it ends.
Safety and contact
If you have a concern about your family member's safety in the app, write to To be confirmed or use the report button in the app. For general questions write to To be confirmed. In an emergency in Italy call 112. The terms of service and our community rules explain how we remove harmful content and how appeals work.
