Privacy notice for professionals
In short
- This notice is for lawyers, accountants, consultants and other professionals who apply for or hold a profile on MovItaly, and for their staff. It adds to the privacy policy, which covers everyone else, and which also applies to you if you use the app as a client.
- We check who you are and that you may practise, because clients rely on it and because the law asks marketplaces to know their traders.
- Payments and identity verification for payouts are run by Stripe, which decides how it handles your identity data as an independent controller.
- We publish the business details that clients need to choose you. We do not publish your private notes or tax data.
- Reviews of you are public. The fee we charge, EUR 10 for each completed booking, and any Sponsored package, are recorded as business transactions and reported to tax authorities where the law requires.
1. Who is responsible
The controller is Lodato Solutions LLC, a company registered in Delaware, USA, with its address at 確認中. Our EU representative under Article 27 GDPR is 確認中, 確認中, 確認中. Data protection officer: 確認中. Contact for privacy requests: 確認中.
You are also a controller of the personal data of your own clients (what they tell you in chat and in your service). The notes you keep about a client in your private notes, and the case material you receive, are your responsibility under your professional and data protection duties. We provide the tools and keep them separate from the client's account.
2. What data we collect about you
- Account and profile: name or legal name, email, phone, photo, headline and description, languages, specialties, office address and city, services and prices, availability, whether you accept minors.
- Credentials and verification: professional register and number (for example the bar or accountants' register), tax identifiers (partita IVA, codice fiscale where needed), degree and certificate documents, insurance details, references, and the results of our checks (register, tax number, identity, insurance, references, sanctions lists), with date and expiry.
- Trader information: your legal name, legal address, business email and phone, and a statement that you act for your professional activity. We keep it to meet the traceability duties of the Digital Services Act and to show clients who they deal with.
- Bookings, messages and reviews: requests, accepted and completed bookings, chat inside bookings, reviews you receive and your replies, reports against you and our decisions.
- Payments and invoices: your Stripe connected account reference and onboarding status, payout status, the platform fee, invoices and electronic invoice (SDI) records, and tax-reporting data.
- Ranking signals: response time, completion rate, quality of reviews, verified specialties and languages, and whether you have a Sponsored package (see section 5).
- Technical data: sign-in data, device and IP in security logs, error reports.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Create and run your professional account and profile, show it to clients | Account, profile, services, availability | Contract (Art. 6.1.b) |
| Verify identity and right to practise, protect clients and vulnerable users | Credentials, register data, check results, evidence documents | Legitimate interest in a trustworthy marketplace (6.1.f); legal obligation where required (6.1.c) |
| Trader traceability and publication of business details | Legal name, address, contact, trader statement | Legal obligation (6.1.c) under the Digital Services Act; contract (6.1.b) |
| Bookings, chat, reminders and calendar links | Booking data, messages | Contract (6.1.b) |
| Payments, payouts and the platform fee | Stripe account reference, payout and fee data | Contract (6.1.b); the verification Stripe runs rests on Stripe's own legal bases |
| Invoices, accounting and tax, including reporting of platform sellers (DAC7) | Identity, tax identifiers, amounts, number of transactions | Legal obligation (6.1.c) |
| Reviews and quality, ranking | Reviews, ratings, response metrics | Legitimate interest (6.1.f) in reliable information for clients; contract (6.1.b) |
| Sponsored packages | Package, period, payment | Contract (6.1.b) |
| Reports, moderation, appeals, statements of reasons | Reports, decisions, your answers | Legal obligation (6.1.c); legitimate interest (6.1.f) |

| Product messages and updates about your account | Contract (6.1.b); marketing only with your consent (6.1.a) |
4. Stripe: identity verification and payouts
To receive money you create a connected account with Stripe (Stripe Connect). Stripe asks for identity, business, bank and tax details and runs verification, sanctions and fraud checks. For those checks Stripe is an independent controller: it decides why and how it uses the data and it is bound by its own privacy notice and legal duties. We do not see your identity document or bank number; we receive the status of verification and the data needed to run payments, reconcile and invoice. Stripe also processes payment data for us as a processor. You can read Stripe's notice on its website.
5. Ranking, reviews and what clients see
Clients see your profile, services, languages, prices, public credentials, reviews and your replies. Search results are ordered by fit to the client's need and quality signals such as verified specialties, languages, location, response time and genuine reviews. Paid "In evidenza" packages are shown as Sponsored, never take the first position and do not change the organic score; the ranking page explains this. Reviews come only from clients with a completed booking. We check them for authenticity, and you can reply or report a review you think is false. We do not use the sensitive traits of clients to decide what you see. No decision about you is taken solely by automated means with legal or similarly significant effect; account suspensions and removals are decided by a person and come with a statement of reasons.
6. Who receives your data
- Clients see what is described in section 5, and what you write to them.
- Our processors, listed on the sub-processors page: hosting, database, email, error monitoring, Stripe (payments), electronic invoicing intermediary.
- Authorities where the law requires, for example tax authorities for platform seller reporting, courts, and regulators asked to verify your registration.
- Other professionals do not see your private data.
We do not sell your data. Data is stored in the EU. For transfers outside the EU we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses, as described in the privacy policy. [OWNER: confirm the transfer basis for each provider.]
7. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Profile and account | While the account exists; anonymised when you delete it, except what the law requires us to keep |
| Verification evidence | While you are listed and for the period needed to defend a claim after you leave [OWNER: approve the period] |
| Bookings, invoices, fee and platform records | 10 years, as Italian tax and accounting rules require |
| Reviews and your replies | While your profile exists; reviews are kept without your identity when the client deletes the account |
| Reports and moderation records | 24 months after closure [OWNER: approve] |
| Chat inside bookings | Account life; the other person's messages are redacted when that person deletes the account |
| Backups | 35 days (daily) and 365 days (monthly) |
See the retention page for the full table.
8. Your rights
You have the rights described in the privacy policy, including access, correction, erasure, portability, restriction, objection and withdrawal of consent. Write to 確認中 or use the in-app tools under Data and privacy. You may complain to the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.gpdp.it) or to the authority where you live or work. Some data we must keep (tax, invoices, safety records) while the law requires it; we tell you which.
9. Changes
When we change this notice we update the version and effective date at the top of the page. For material changes that affect how we use your data as a professional, we give you at least 15 days' notice in the app or by email before they apply. Earlier versions are available on request at 確認中. See also the professional terms, which govern the contract between you and us.
